The Day a Necklace Changed Everything

The day a necklace changed everything
The first time I truly understood the power of jewellery, I was 23 years old, absolutely terrified, and about to get on a train to London on my own.
I know. Not exactly the stuff of dramatic movies. 😂
But hear me out.
At the time, I was self-employed as a bookkeeper, mostly working from home. Comfortable. Safe. Familiar. So when I landed a client meeting in London -a part of the city I'd never been to, travelling solo for the first time- I was a wreck.
I was convinced I'd get on the wrong train. Turn up at the wrong building. Say something mortifying. Trip over my own feet. The whole lot.
Proper country bumpkin heading to the big smoke energy. 😂
I needed to look professional
Because it was a client meeting, I needed to look professional. So I reached for my trusty grey trouser suit. Totally fine. Totally safe. Totally... grey.
To brighten it up, I added a pair of green shoes and a matching green pendant necklace- a gift from my brother that I absolutely adored.
It changed everything
And here's the thing.
That necklace changed everything.
Not the journey. Not the meeting. Not my age or my experience or how well I knew London. None of that changed.
But the moment I put that necklace on?
I felt confident. I felt stylish. I felt like me.
My outfit went from "boring work clothes" to something that actually reflected who I was. And somehow ( and I genuinely can't fully explain this) that was enough.
I didn't nervously shuffle through Waterloo station that day.
I strutted through it. 😂
Looking back, that was the moment I understood something I still believe with my whole heart:
Jewellery isn't just about how you look. It's about how you feel.
The smallest things, a necklace, a pair of earrings, a little pop of colour, can completely shift your mood, your confidence, and the way you show up in the world.
And that's exactly why I do what I do.
Every woman deserves to feel amazing
Because every woman deserves to feel amazing. Not just on special occasions. Not just for big meetings in London. But on the school run, on a coffee date, on a completely ordinary Monday morning.
So here's your reminder for today:
Don't save your favourite jewellery for best.
Wear the necklace.
Wear the earrings.
Wear the thing that makes you feel fabulous.
You never know how much of a difference it might make.
Find a pair of earrings that give you that same confidence boost
